Roundtable held in connection with Max Factor exhibition…

(HOLLYWOOD) – Three of the film industry’s top make-up artists will lead a behind-the-camera journey revealing the tricks of their creative trade at a special roundtable at Hollywood Entertainment Museum, Saturday, Nov. 15 (2 p.m.).
The panel is being staged in connection with the Museum’s ongoing exhibition (through Dec. 1) “Max Factor: Hollywood’s First Makeover Artist,” which chronicles how the legendary make-up maestro literally changed the face of Hollywood. Attendance is free with admission to the Museum.
Discussing contemporary movie make-up and Factor’s still powerful legacy will be Michael Blake (“Ali,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Independence Day”), Susan Cabral-Ebert (“Sum of All Fears,” “The Perfect Storm,” “Pleasantville”) and Bill Myer (“Spiderman,” “Windtalkers,” “Starship Troopers”).
Issues they will discuss include how computer generated graphics has altered their work, how else the craft has changed since Max Factor reigned 80 years ago and the nature of make-up that is used in motion pictures and those available to the retail public.
The exhibition, which features hundreds of artifacts from the priceless Max Factor Collection, colorfully demonstrates the impact his genius had on the motion picture industry and millions of women worldwide who were introduced to the magic of make-up.
Hollywood Entertainment Museum (7021 Hollywood Blvd.), dedicated to celebrating the entertainment arts and Hollywood the place, also operates the model Education Center for at-risk youth.
