THE LOS ANGELES MUSEUM
a new urban icon
(a work in progress)

UPDATE
After 10 years on Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood Entertainment Museum closed July 2006 because it had outgrown its space.  The Board of Directors decided to actively pursue a new Museum to grow from 33,000 square feet to 150,000 square feet expanding its mission and Education Center. A proposal to do a planning study of the Los Angeles Museum in downtown Los Angeles is being circulated to identify funding for this effort.

VISION
While there have been previous attempts to explore the possibility, it remains remarkable that Los Angeles does not yet have a museum that offers a comprehensive overview of the diverse social panorama with which this nation’s most populous community is identified.

The LOS ANGELES MUSEUM will in every way meet and exceed the expectations of even its most ardent supporters, and is destined to become an iconic addition to the urban landscape joining Hollywood Boulevard, Disney Hall, the Music Center, MOCA, LACMA and The Getty as international destinations with which Los Angeles is identified.

The LOS ANGELES MUSEUM will showcase the essence of what draws Angelenos to this special city.  Los Angeles serves as a playground to several creative industries including: Architecture/Interior Design, Art, Entertainment, Fashion, Music, Video Games, Graphic Arts, Culinary Arts, Technology, Industrial Design, Toys, Tourism, Visual and Performing Arts.
