Current Volunteer Opportunities & How To Get Started
At this time we are looking for those interested in participating in the most visible of our volunteer assignments, our "front-of-the-house" positions – Guest Host Volunteer and Museum Shop Volunteer.
Guest Host Volunteer: Become a volunteer in this position and you will make Hollywood come alive for our guests. Show them how sound effects are added to a production in our Foley Room, put them "in the picture" using the green screen technique at the Kodak Fantasy Theater, be their host as they tour the "back lot" where they will get a glimpse of just some of the "behind-the-scenes" work that goes into a production and then take them on to the original sets of "Star Trek" and "Cheers." In the Rotunda area you can encourage guests to explore the exhibits (many of them interactive) that teach of the accomplishments and history of the Hollywood community. Training is provided for this volunteer assignment.
Museum Shop Volunteer: The Museum Shop showcases items with a Hollywood theme that our guests can purchase and is a source of financial support for Museum programs. Volunteers assist staff by greeting guests and helping them select "just the right gift" as a remembrance of their visit to Hollywood. Volunteers will also assist in preparing items for the sales floor and in maintaining displays. Training is provided for this assignment.
